What exactly is happening? On a linkage clutch truck, all the force from the clutch is going onto the pedal bracket and then to the firewall, not pushing directly on the firewall like a hydro clutch truck.

Sometimes the truck is hard to get into gear, other times it just pops right in. Whenever i hit the clutch pedal the brake pedal moves about half an inch to an inch to the right. Maybe i'm just worried about nothing, and i need a new clutch kit?

Sounds to me like the pedal shaft bushings are worn, or possibly your pedal bracket is cracked/broken with the brake pedal moving.
As for the clutch not always disengaging, how much free play is in the clutch pedal? You should adjust to have around 1/2" free play at the top of the pedal travel.

Ya know that just may be what the deal is. Next time i get a minute to look at it i will.

For now its sitting with a blown wheel cylinder in the rear..and i'm tweaking on the carb a bit.

I thought I was having a cab flex issue, but it turned out to be a pedal assembly problem. Replaced the pedal assy. and it was all fine.

I did eventually get around to replacing the pedal assy. That did cut down on my firewall flex some. But apparently i'm still going to need to have a reinforcement plate made to stop it entirely. Just one more thing to do on my list, just after getting my cab corners replaced. :tooth :headbang
